Acceptance of terms
By using UUIDDev (“the site”, “we”, “us”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
Use of the service
UUIDDev provides browser-based UUID generation tools, reference guides, and a glossary for informational and developer use. You may use the site and its tools for any lawful purpose, including personal projects, commercial applications, and open-source software, without restriction.
You may not use the site to:
- Circumvent any security or access controls on third-party systems
- Transmit malicious code or interfere with the site’s operation
- Reproduce substantial portions of the site’s written content for redistribution without attribution
No warranty
The site and all tools are provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We make no guarantee that:
- Generated UUIDs are unique in your specific application context
- The site is available without interruption
- Any information on the site is free from errors or omissions
UUID uniqueness depends on the cryptographic quality of your platform’s random number generator. This site uses crypto.randomUUID() and crypto.getRandomValues() where available, which are cryptographically secure in all modern browsers. We make no warranty for environments where these APIs are unavailable or compromised.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, UUIDDev and its operators are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or the tools provided, including but not limited to UUID collisions, data loss, or application failures.
Intellectual property
The site’s written content, component structure, and design are the property of UUIDDev. The UUID format and specifications are defined by the IETF and are in the public domain. Code examples on this site are released under the MIT License and may be used freely in any project.
Third-party links
The site links to external resources including RFC documents, MDN Web Docs, and database documentation. We are not responsible for the content or availability of those resources.
Changes to these terms
We will update the effective date at the top of this page when material changes are made. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the applicable jurisdiction. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
